Inside Line Promotions – TULSA, Okla. (Jan. 20, 2015) – Tyson Hall learned many lessons last weekend during the 29th annual Lucas Oil Chili Bowl Nationals.

Hall, who was driving a family midget for the first time at the prestigious event inside the River Spirit Expo Center, noted that he is looking to gain more experience when he returns next year.

“We needed more seat time,” he said. “It was a learning experience. We’re going to run the midget two or three more times this year so we’ll have more experience going into next year.”

Luck also played into the weekend for Hall, whose preliminary night last Friday started with him lining up on the outside of the fourth row of a heat race.

“There was a lot of luck drawing-wise and how the track was in your heat,” he said. “The track was one groove when we ran our heat so there wasn’t a lot of passing going on.”

Hall advanced from eighth to seventh place in his heat race, which relegated him to a C Main. He then maneuvered from eighth to fourth place in the C Main to transfer to the back of a B Main.

Hall rallied from 16th to a ninth-place result, which was shy of a transfer into the main event. That lined him up on the outside of the third row of an F Main on Saturday.

“I tried the top, but the bottom was too good,” he said. “I finally got back down to the bottom and it was follow the leader. We were all bumper to bumper running the bottom.”

Hall’s event ended with a sixth-place finish.

He is now focused on the sprint car season, which is scheduled to start on March 13 at Golden Triangle Raceway Park in Beaumont, Texas, and on March 14 at Battleground Speedway in Highlands, Texas, with the ASCS Gulf South Region.
