I have always had eurge to compete..Like everyone else I played baseball and football but there was something missing. Tell one day my dad brought home a 1976 100cc kawasaki. I threw my leg over that bike and then I found that missing something..... it was the speed and learning to control something that at any second would hurt you. From there I busted my butt all that summer to save for a newer bike to go race it. One of the odd jobs I did was at Owen's Cycle in Yakima Washington. I dusted bikes, shelves, swept floors you know whatever 7-8 year old kid could do. Well the owner Dean raced at the local oval track and as I raced my dirt bike I still worked there doing what I could and that lead to helping around the racecar.
As years went on I grew up started a family and really racing wasn't possible tell around 2005 we separated and shortly there after a bought a dwarf car. I raced it when I could for a couple of seasons but with work, court battles I had to let the car along with other stuff go. I ended up raising my two boys and with there activities left no room for my passion.
Fast forward years of single parenting. I started racing dirt oval rc cars in 2018 it helped curve the eurge but never completely satisfied it. In October of 2022 I finally got back into a car I had to rebuild. Kids are grown up and now at 45 it's time for me to chase my passion. Don't know where or how far it's going to go but one thing is for sure I'm where I wanted to be all those years ago and loving it. I've taken a long round around to get here. I have found within myself strength to always go after what i want and no matter how long it takes or how many times life knocks you down jump up and go after your dream.
