3rd Place at Selinsgrove 6-22-12
With the weather hot and humid, and thunderstorms in the area, JMR pulled into Selinsgrove on Friday 6/22 for some 125cc micro racing. At the mid-point of the season, JMR has had its share of ups and downs this year, but looking to keep the strong finishes going. In the hot lap session the car looked very good, so minimal changes we made for the heat race, Jacob drew #47 for the heat race line up, putting him in the 6th starting position for heat #1. Starting on the outside of the third row at the start, Jacob could not make it to the racing groove, and on lap #2 spun in turns 1 and 2 bringing out the caution. Restarting in 6th, Jacob would make it up to the 4th position at the end of the heat race.
After the heat race, chassis changes were discussed and made for the feature event, starting in the 4th position. With threating thunderstorms in the area, and lighting visible, the Selinsgrove Management made the decision to shorten all the laps for all feature events, our feature would only be 10 laps. When the feature went green, Jacob settled in the 3rd position, and would maintain the position until the end of the feature.
Jacob will be back in action on July 7th at Selinsgrove Speedway, we are not scheduled to race next week 6/30 due to the 410 PA Sprint Speedweek occupying the large track at Selinsgrove. Special thanks to all the family and friends that came out to support Jacob this past Friday night.
