Ready for Floyd Reynolds?
State Fair, Concerts, Rodeos, there are plenty of things going on this time of year. Best of all it is time for the Floyd Reynolds Memorial at Aztec Speedway in Aztec, NM.
New Mexico’s best sprint car wheelers will meet with the ASCS Rocky Mountain Series for their final race of the season. Last year will be hard to top, a bounty on Johnny Herrera, old pros and young guns doing their best to break his regional ASCS win streak. A slide job fest put on by Johnny Herrera, Ben Gregg, Derrik Ortega and Rickey Hood for the late Saturday night, very early Sunday morning crowd, was one of the best races of last season. Last year’s Rocky Mountain Champion Derrik Ortega will be looking for his first win of the season and first Floyd Reynolds victory. This year Jake Ossenfort leads the Rocky Mountain Series into the weekend looking for his first ASCS Championship.
Some Southwest Region competitors are expected to make the trip for Friday night, Including Josh Hodges who is the youngest ASCS feature winner after picking up a Rocky Mountain win at Sweetwater Speedway in June, last year’s runner up and current Southwest point leader Ben Gregg. It is shaping up to be another great year for the Floyd Reynolds so head up to Aztec this weekend for some of the best racing in the Southwest.
