CELEBRATING OUR 5TH YEAR IN RACING!
As we begin making preparations for the 2013 season, I began to reflect back on the past 5 years of racing, back to when Tyler Groenendyk Racing was established in 2008. The first thing that comes to mind is a naive young man with a very big dream of establishing his own race team. I was 18 years old and had no clue what a blessing racing would be in my life. Through the friends, family, sponsors, car owners, anonymous supporters and fans it has brought into my life. We have been through the ups and downs, the wins and championships, destroyed race cars and frustrating finishes. One thing has never changed regardless, the people and supporters of this race team have stood behind and believed in me and this team the whole time.
Before we begin another season, I want to take a few minutes to say thank you to everyone who has supported and believed in me. Without the great support everyone has provide, we wouldn’t be where we are today. I always stress that anything we achieve is not just accomplished by me sitting in the seat of a racecar, but that there is a lot of work and support behind the scenes that makes any of the success we achieve possible. We race as a team, we act as a team, we work as a team and we have and will continue to win as a team!
We have made it to the Sprint Car Capitol of the world, won 2 track championships, a 4th place in national points and have raised over $12,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation in the last 5 years. I don’t know what the next 5 years at TGR will bring, but I know that I will have great people surrounding and supporting me.
Building this race team was my dream; we now have the opportunity to use this dream to help children with life-threatening illnesses also get their one true wish. This is something I have brought to the team because I am very passionate and thankful for everything you have done to help build TGR to where it is today. We can now use TGR as an opportunity to continue giving to others! I am very excited about the upcoming 2013 season and I look forward to seeing you at the races!
