Backed by solid partners, Tyler racked up four wins and won the championship in the Pro Sprints class in 2021. He led the class in podiums, top fives and top ten finishes. Tyler followed that up with three more wins in 2022 and a close second place standing in points. He returns to the 360 class in 2023.
Tyler Groenendyk returned for a full season in 2017 after engine problems kept him out for part of the 2016 season. Tyler would record a top five finish on his way to a solid 11th place standing in points. Topping off his season was an award for "Sportsman of the Year" in the 360 class. The talented driver has also tasted success in the modified ranks.

Racing History
Tyler started racing go-karts around the age of five and raced karts for approximately 3 years. His family then decided it was a good time to get out of racing, and they bought Tyler a motorcycle to ride around the farm. With racing in his blood, Tyler didn't stay off the racetrack long. At the age of 15, he started racing Motocross. He spent a lot of time riding with friends and racing when he had time.
At age 16 Tyler received the opportunity to race go-karts for the legendary Larry Killam. Larry is go kart owner out of Des Moines, Iowa who has had many successful racers go through his program. Tyler then raced weekly at the Newton Kart Club as well as the 2 cycle Grand Nationals in Delaware, Iowa once a year. In 2008 Tyler decided it was time for the next step in his racing career. He founded Tyler Groenendyk Racing and started racing a B-modified at the Southern Iowa Speedway, as well as Bloomfield Speedway. Adding a top ten in track points to his resume in his rookie year.
2009 saw Tyler in the B-Modified again, winning the Track Championship at the Southern Iowa. In 2010 he earned back to back track championships as well as a 4th place national points run. In 2011 Tyler received his first opportunity to start racing sprint cars at Knoxville Raceway with the Wares & Harrison team. After 2 years with the team and achieving success in many areas but desiring to become a team owner again, Tyler once again stepped out on his own as a sprint car team owner at Knoxville. Team ownership at this level has provided many challenges and many unexpected turn of events that have kept us for achieving what is desired. However, Tyler has not given up and he is determined as he has ever been to keep moving forward toward achieving his goals.
