If consistency wins championships than Wayne Helliwell Jr. and the Bruce Bernhardt owned Ekeys-4-Cars, Unique Ford Fusion Team are headed in the right direction. The Dover, NH pilot headed into a doubleheader weekend with the American Canadian Tour not finishing worse than 4th in the last four races.

After a washout at nearby White Mountain Motorsport's Park on Saturday evening the Team headed north an hour to complete the ACT Bond Auto 150 at Riverside Speedway in Groveton, New Hampshire. A race that was rained out on lap 29 June 2nd.

The morning didn't start as planned as the Team struggled with the car during the practice sessions. Fighting a set of tires that would not find their place in the setup; Helliwell made a host of changes to the 27NH machine."We had a set of balloons for tires; they were two inches bigger than we normal run. We really struggled bad with them, he said."

With threatening skies once again, Helliwell would restart the event in 4th position. Multiple cautions slowed the race early, Helliwell found himself in a torrid battle with Maine's Rowland Robinson. As they swapped the lead back in forth, running door to door. Helliwell would finally take the top spot on lap 56 only to see a new challenger to his outside.

Local favorite and former tour regular Randy Potter would battle side by side with Helliwell for more than 20 laps. Potter would take the lead on lap 90 and take Hudson's Joey Pole with him. 21 laps later Pole would work his way to the inside of Potter bringing the 27NH in toe.

Helliwell would go on to record a 2nd place finish, as Pole would take his second straight victory. The 2nd would be Helliwell's 5th straight top 5 finish continuing the streak of consistency. Pleased with the outcome Helliwell felt he was lucky to finish where he did.

"We really had a sixth or seventh place car today. We were so far off of where we normally are. The tires were just junk. We really needed long runs. Joey ran a good race… We just ran our stuff to hard fighting for the lead early. But in all thats a great outcome to take a second, Helliwell finished."

The next series event is July 6th at what most would consider a home track for the Team, Star Speedway hosts a tour event for the first time in many years. But before then the Team plans some additional none series races both to the North and South.

Next Thursday June 27th they head south to the high banks of the 5/8 mile Thompson Speedway. The Connecticut oval will host a special 40 lap late model race.

On Saturday June, 29th they will head north of the border to compete with the Serie ACT tour for the first time this year. The Autodrome Montmagny Speedway hosts to a 250 lap event. The Montmagny, Quebec 3/8 mile track is one Helliwell has competed on before; all the way back in 2002 where he finished 4th in a Pro All Star Series event his first time at the track.

"I'm really looking forward to the next few weeks, Helliwell said. It will be great to get back to some of these tracks… it's been a while. It will allow us to work on some things. But really it will be nice to get some none points races in… Go have some fun, he finished."
