Wayne Helliwell Jr
The Make-A-Wish DT100
On Saturday March 2nd Wayne Helliwell Jr. and ninety-nine other drivers will once again invade Scarborough Maine’s Indoor Karting facility for the 5th annual Make-A-Wish Foundation DT100.
In just four years the DT100 has become one of the largest indoor karting charity events in the country. Each year drivers from all disciplines of racing have come north to the indoor karting track to compete for bragging rights and most importantly the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Over the last four years the event has raised over $67,000 dollars for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The 5th running of the event will see drivers from 12 different states compete.
Wayne will try and become the only driver to qualify for the charity race all 5 years. Once again he's looking forward to taking part in such a positive event and compares it to the nations largest indoor midget car race with it's diverse driving talent. “It’s great to see all these drivers from all different types of racing come together for such a great cause. It has really become the charity version of the Chili Bowl, just with go-karts. Make-A-Wish does such great things with children. It's in honor to be invited each year."
