Goodwin Takes a Broom to the Weekend…SWEEP!!

Garett Goodwin set out on a mission this past weekend with car #29, a mission that could possibly include a broom and a couple of race tracks. Garett Goodwin went to the Illiana Speedway on Saturday and was fast right off the track, just like always with the #29 Hansen Motorsports Legends Car. Garett qualified 1st out of 18 cars, then would start 10th in his heat race and would finish the race at 6th.

Feature time came and the #29 was set to roll off in the fifth position. The green flag waved over the Illiana Speedway and Goodwin set sail towards the front the pack. An early caution would come out and Garett was barely able to sneak by a spinning competitor.

Following the green, Garett restarted at third and was able to charge forward to take the lead in a quarter of a lap. After many grueling laps and cautions and a red, Garett would crosws the finish line with the #29 Hansen Motorsports K1 Race Gear phDesign Motorsport Legends Car. Goodwin celebrated with his team, but that was only the beginning of his weekend.

The crew stayed up until 4 in the morning to get the Hansen Motorsports cars ready for the next days of racing at Grundy Speedway.

Garett qualified 1st, won his heat and capped off with a feature event victory. Get your brooms ready… this isn’t Garett’s last!
