Driver Information

My name is Mel Romero, I am 16 years old and go to Las Cruces High School. My love for speed started when I was 3 years old. I jumped on a dirt bike and never looked back. Traveled all over the country to race at outdoor MX tracks and Arenacross. I also did a year of racing a quarter midget at Southern NM Speedway, where I got 4th overall and Rookie of The Year! I continued Motocross up until about 13 years old, where I decided to take a break and make moves with soccer. I have only played soccer for going on maybe 5 years now and I have made high profile teams in a very short amount of time. After about a year off of the dirt bike, I told my Mom and Grandpa I missed racing. I was fortunate enough to be blessed and sponsored with my 1st race car, 2 years ago. I entered the Vado Speedway Park season very late but got to race the last 3 rounds of the Claimers Class. I have now successfully ended my second season at Vado Speedway Park in Vado, NM. The 2024-2025 season is fixing to start and I will now be racing a B-Mod. We hope to branch out on our off weekends and race at Alien Speedway, in Roswell NM. I am extremely blessed with a great support system, crew and sponsors! We plan to have an amazing year, new class, and a new car!
