Gray goes 18th to 7th at I-75

SWEETWATER, Tenn. (July 16) – Making his first start at I-75 Raceway in five years, Jim Gray survived to finish seventh in July 16’s Red Clay Series event for 602 Crate Late Models. After starting 18th in the 20-lap main event, Jim dodged a bevy of wrecks and passed a handful of cars to make his way into the top 10 with three laps remaining. He managed to get by two more cars on the white flag lap to record a seventh-place finish and earn the night’s Hard Charger award. Jim picked up $100 bonus for his effort thanks to Extreme Towing and Recovery LLC.

With family commitments making it tough to race on the weekend for the next couple of weeks, the team had hoped to enter midweek Red Clay Series events at Senoia (Ga.) Raceway; Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney, S.C.; Toccoa (Ga.) Speedway and North Georgia Speedway in Chatsworth.

Senoia’s event was rained out on July 18 and with an unfavorable weather forecast, the team decided not to make the 8-hour haul to Cherokee on July 23. The Jimmy Gray Motorsports squad will now wait to see what Mother Nature has in store before deciding whether or not to make the July 25 show at Toccoa.

Jim would like to thank you to Definite Wellness in Tullahoma, Tenn., and Victory Fun Park in Lewisburg, Tenn., for their continued support this season. It’s awesome to have the support of two great marketing partners.
