Changes and Upgrades
Reaching the halfway point in the 2010 Sprint Car season, Chris Coker Racing is taking a much needed four week break. They will use the time off to build a new car, replacing the back-up car they have been using since a hard crash earlier in the year. The team is making engine upgrades and suspension changes to go along with the new Chassis. The biggest change though is not with the teams equipment. Chris Coker, team owner and driver, has relocated to New Braunfels, TX to be closer to the rest of the team, and the team shop. Chris will work full time to improve on the team race preparations and organization. The teams schedule has also been modified to maximize resources and optimize the teams build up for the 2011 season.
"We have really been focused on getting experience, and working through some growing pains during our first year. We know feel that we need to take a step back, combine everything we've learned this first year, and come back to the table with a better hand. So were going to take some time and make some changes. This will give us around a dozen races to evaluate some equipment changes going into 2011. I think we've gotten to the point that we can be competitive, and it's time to step up our game." says Chris.
The teams next planned race weekend will be the ASCS Lone Star double at RPM Speedway and Cowtown Speedway August 27th and 28th.
Good luck to all the teams participating at Knoxville this throughout the next couple of weekends. We'll see you there next year!
