Driver Information

Kyle Hayden's journey in motorsports began with his grandfathers, uncles, and his dad, Kenny. The Hayden name has been involved in mid-Michigan auto racing for over 50 years. Kenny, Bobby, and "Fast" Eddie Hayden won many races throughout the area from the 70's through the 90's. Kyle's uncle on the other side of the family, Tim Priebe, was also a former SLM track champion at Dixie Speedway and competed in the ARCA SuperCar Series.

Kyle began short track racing in 2003 at the age of 17 at Auto City Speedway (Clio, MI) in the thunder truck division and caught on quickly, picking up 2 feature wins and 2nd in the final standings. 2004 saw him win 9 features and the track championship.

Kyle then moved into the Factory Stock/Street Stock division and won numerous features at both Auto City and Dixie (Birch Run, MI) Speedway. He also took the same car and won the 2007 Sportsman championship on the 4/10's mile at Dixie.

In 2008 with car owner, and Uncle, Tim Priebe, Kyle moved into the pro late model division. He competed in some ASA Late Model races along with local races at Auto City.

2009 saw Kyle and his team compete primarily in the SuperPro late model series throughout Indiana and Michigan. Kyle came home 5th in the final standings with 6 top-10 finishes and a best finish of 2nd in the season finale.

2010 through 2012 saw Kyle compete primarily at the Auto City Speedway in their weekly pro late model (Super Stock) division along with some traveling races with ASALMS and then the Jeg's CRA All-Stars Tour. He won the season championship in 2010 and then was the runner-up the following 2 seasons, while picking up nearly a dozen feature wins.

The weekly division was dissolved in 2013 at Auto City, so Kyle and the team spent 2013-2018 racing a partial schedule with the Jeg's CRA All-Stars Tour, taking home numerous top-5 finishes and a win in 2017 Miller 100 at Auto City.

In 2019 Kyle left late model racing and found a new home with Rick Wiecorek racing in the open-wheeled modifieds. Kyle captured a feature win and track championship at Birch Run (MI) Speedway.

In the pandemic-shortened 2020 season, Kyle raced at Owosso eight times, picking up 3 wins including the prestigious Owosso Nationals. Despite missing 2 races, he was 3rd in the final point standings.

2023 was a great season, with Kyle winning the Wheeler Trucking Friday Night Thunder Championship at Birch Run, along with picking up the first ever modified win at the newly paved Owosso Speedway. Another highlight to the season was finishing 4th in the Downright Awesome Modified Race at Birch Run Speedway with over 60 mods in attendance.

Presently, Kyle and the Rick Wiecorek Racing team plan on competing primarily at Birch Run Speedway, while also attending select events at other tracks.
