Bellm Back to Lake Ozark after Top Ten Nationals Run

Lonnie Wheatley, NIXA, Mo. (September 8, 2017) – Kyle Bellm and the Resource Asset Management Solutions (RAMS) No. 14k Sprint Car team will be back in action at Eldon, Missouri’s Lake Ozark Speedway on Saturday night for more ASCS Warrior Region action after recording a top-ten finish in last weekend’s Lake Ozark Speedway 360 Nationals.

Entering last weekend’s event with four triumphs in six previous Lake Ozark Speedway outings, hopes were high for the PPG Automotive Finishes/Colorvision team. But, a tough outing in the Saturday night prelim put the Kannady Racing Engines/Heidbreder Foundation Service team behind the eight ball, with Bellm then rallying to salvage a seventh-place finish in the Sunday finale.

“We didn’t really have the weekend we were looking for,” Bellm says. “We still had a good run on Sunday night though and made strides in the right direction.”

A tough draw on a heavy track made for tough going on Saturday night, particularly with what was later diagnosed as a failing torsion bar.

“The car just wasn’t good, one corner wouldn’t hold up,” Bellm comments.

Awarded a track provisional for the Saturday preliminary feature, Bellm made the most of it by climbing from 24th to finish 14th.

With changes made for the Sunday finale, Bellm was back up to speed in the VP Racing Fuels/Schure Built Suspensions entry by racing to a heat race win.

Starting eighth in the feature, Bellm fell back initially before charging back up to fifth aboard the Christian County Collision Repair/Bybee Lawn Care machine before a red flag flew.

“It was a long red flag and the bleeder went down some,” Bellm relates. “After that, I couldn’t quite run the line I had been running as well.”

Bellm still managed to finish out the night out in seventh.

“It was a good finish against a strong field of cars, so we’ll take it,” Bellm says.

Bellm and the familiar No. 14k Sprint Car will be in action at Lake Ozark Speedway over the next two Saturday nights in a pair of ASCS Warrior Region event before the Hockett/McMillin Memorial at Lucas Oil Speedway on September 21-23.
