Bellm Set for Lake Ozark Nationals after another Top Five

Lonnie Wheatley, NIXA, Mo. (September 1, 2017) – Eldon, Missouri’s Lake Ozark Speedway has been a happy place for Kyle Bellm and the Resource Asset Management Solutions (RAMS) No. 14k Sprint Car team thus far in 2017.

Bellm and PPG Automotive Finishes/Colorvision crew hope that trend continues with this weekend’s Lake Ozark Speedway 360 Nationals on Saturday and Sunday.

The Saturday event offers up a $2,000 winner’s share with $4,000 on the line for Sunday’s winner. Another $5,000 is possible by winning both feature events.

Bellm enters the weekend with four Lake Ozark wins in six tries this year with no finish lower than fourth.

“We have had the car working well there,” Bellm said of the Kannady Racing Engines/Heidbreder Foundation Service entry. “There’s a lot of money on the line this weekend, so hopefully we can keep it going.”

Bellm comes off another strong run after driving the VP Racing Fuels/Schure Built Suspensions machine to a fourth-place finish in last Saturday’s ASCS Red River tilt at Oklahoma’s Salina Highbanks Speedway.

After climbing from fourth to third in heat race action, Bellm gridded the feature on the front row outside and led the way in the early going aboard the Christian County Collision Repair/Bybee Lawn Care mount.

“We got a little tight on the cushion, I bobbled up there and let Chance (Morton) get by,” Bellm recalls.

Bellm tried to battle back. “I threw a couple of slidejobs, I really overdrove it a little bit and tapped the wall getting off of four,” Bellm says.

Battling back and forth among the top five, Bellm ultimately settled for fourth at the stripe.

“I probably had a second or third place car,” Bellm says. “I tried to make it a winning car and cost myself a position or two.”

The fourth-place result was Bellm’s 11th top-five run in his last 12 outings.

“Overall, we were happy with the way the night went,” Bellm sums up.

Now, to extend that run of success at this weekend’s Lake Ozark Speedway 360 Nationals on Saturday and Sunday.

2017 Quick Stats: 28 races, 5 wins, 15 top-fives, 15 top-tens.
