Parker Martin Begins DIRTcar Nationals at Volusia
On Tuesday afternoon Parker Martin kicked off his 2020 season at Volusia Speedway Park (Barberville, Florida) for the 49th annual DIRTcar Nationals. Drawing 48 DIRTcar Late Models, Martin laid down the sixth fastest lap in his time trial group before placing 6th in his heat race. Needing a 3rd place finish or better in his B-Main to make the A-Main, Parker logged an 8th place outing.
The following night for the World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series sanctioned program, Parker came in 6th in his heat, transferring him into the B-Main for another shot at the $10,000-to-win A-Main. For the fourth round of the 49th annual DIRTcar Nationals on Thursday evening, Martin recorded a 7th place finish in his heat race, sending him into the B-Main. Locking the Top 2 into the main event, Parker registered a 6th place finish.
On Friday evening, Parker recorded the 12th fastest lap in his time trial group before placing 8th in his heat race. Needing a 3rd place finish or better in his B-Main to make the $10,000-to-win A-Main, Martin recorded a 7th place outing.
Wrapping up the 49th annual DIRTcar Nationals on Saturday, Martin came in 10th in his heat, giving him one final shot at the $10,000-to-win finale with a B-Main appearance. Sending the Top 3 into the show, Parker fell short with a 10th place finish.
