Austin Alumbaugh
New Month, New Outlook
The end of June presented some obstacles for the Alumbaugh Racing Team. On the way to US 36 Raceway a bearing went out on a trailer wheel causing an unexpected pit stop to make repairs before the night of racing could begin. Luck didn't get any better in the A-Main where the brakes went out on the 360 sprinter forcing Austin to watch the finish from the infield with a 15th finishing spot.
The McMillen/Hockett Memorial at Lake Ozark Speedway attracted a stellar field of 360's. Austin raced the fifth heat to finish fourth. The finish of the heat was Travis Rilat, Kyle Hirst, Josh Fisher, AUSTIN ALUMBAUGH, Shane Stewart, Mark Shirshekan, Randy Martin, and Cody Baker. Could have been the front rows of an A-Main most races. The passing points put Austin in the second B-Main where he finished 5th.
July starts off at LA Raceway on the 2nd. Austin has made the top 5 in both his appearances at LA in 2010. Saturday, July 3rd the team returns to 24 Raceway in Moberly for the Whitehead Memorial. Alumbaugh's last appearance at the Moberly high banks awarded him a win in the Gary Scott Memorial.
