Drake Troutman seventh in World Finals finale; runner-up in prelim at The Dirt Track at Charlotte
Drake Troutman unloaded his RFI Resources No. 7 machine at The Dirt Track at Charlotte (Concord, N.C.) on Wednesday afternoon for the 18th-annual World Finals with the World of Outlaw Case Construction Late Model Series.
With over 60 Late Models signed in for the event, Troutman kicked off his week on a strong note as he qualified fifth-quickest in his stacked group and took the checkered flag in his heat race. Pulling the outside pole in the redraw, Drake led the first half of the 50-lap feature before giving up the lead to Ricky Thornton Jr. Troutman settled for runner-up while Chris Madden completed the podium.
Recording a DNF in Friday's $15,000-to-win feature, Troutman turned his focus to Saturday's $25,000-to-win finale where he would score a Top-10 outing by finishing seventh.
