Troutman plagued by mechanical woes in ULMS doubleheader
Drake Troutman took part in a Labor Day doubleheader with the Jay’s Automotive United Late Model Series (ULMS) on Friday and Saturday but battled mechanical issues and bad luck throughout the weekend.
After a fuel filter issue in Friday’s Labor Day Classic at Bedford Speedway (Bedford, Pa.) disrupted his heat race and dropped him to a B-Main, Troutman gained three spots but missed a transfer position by two cars.
For the Butch Renninger Memorial on Saturday at Port Royal Speedway (Port Royal, Pa.), Drake followed up a fifth-place finish in his heat with a consolation victory. Rolling off 18th for the $7,333-to-win finale, Troutman was scored 25th in the final rundown.
