Drake Troutman parks Modified in victory lane at Port Royal
Putting his focus on his Super Late Model for a tripleheader weekend with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS), Drake Troutman visited Georgetown Speedway (Georgetown, Del.) on Thursday evening for the rescheduled Melvin Joseph Memorial.
After sitting out an early rain delay, Troutman squeezed into the $18,049-to-win A-Main with a third-place finish in his heat. Starting in 12th, Drake was an early retiree on lap 18.
For the two-day Rumble by the River on Friday at Port Royal Speedway (Port Royal, Pa.), Drake was sidelined for the weekend with motor issues while running fifth in his $5,000-to-win preliminary feature.
Also competing in the Jerry Foster-owned No. 5 Modified on Friday, Troutman backed up a heat race victory with his 18th win of the season in the 20-lap feature. He finished 0.815 seconds ahead of Michael Altobelli with David Stremme, George Dixon, and Glenn Elliott rounding out the top-five.
A drive train issue in Saturday night’s Modified finale led to an early exit for Troutman on the 17th circuit.
