Drake Troutman doubles down at Latrobe and Bedford
Drake Troutman visited Victory Lane in two different divisions over the weekend with a triumph on Saturday at Latrobe Speedway in his Wheeler Fleet Solutions No. 7 RFI Resources / Longhorn Chassis / Jay Dickens Racing Engines Super Late Model followed by a Sunday afternoon win at Bedford Speedway aboard Jerry Foster Racing / CertainTeed No. 5 ABC Supply Co. / All About Doors / Longhorn Chassis Modified.
“It was a fun and successful weekend. I’m very humbled to have two great rides in two different divisions that I get to race on any given weekend, and to take them both to Victory Lane on consecutive days means a lot,” Troutman said. “We’re looking forward to chasing big checks with the Appalachian Mountain Speedweek this weekend. It’s great to see the tour coming back to life in our area.”
With Mother Nature washing out his weekend opener on Friday at Big Diamond Speedway (Minersville, Pa.), Drake Troutman unloaded his RFI Resources No. 7 Late Model at Latrobe Speedway (Latrobe, Pa.) on Saturday evening for the Super Late Model portion of the Jesse Sterbutzel Memorial.
With a heat race victory placing him on the front row for the feature, Drake outran pole-starting John Lee in the 30-lapper to claim his 12th win of the season and a $2,500 payday. He took the checkers ahead of Lee, Dan Angelicchio, Daniel Hill, and Lucas McDonald.
The weekend concluded on Sunday with Troutman parking his Modified in victory lane at Bedford Speedway (Bedford, Pa.). Outrunning fellow heat race winner Jonathan Taylor in the feature, Drake soared to his second win in as many nights and 13th of the 2023 campaign.

Action opens on Friday at Clinton County Speedway (Mill Hall, Pa.) with a $4,000-to-win program, while Saturday’s action takes Drake to Port Royal (Pa.) Speedway for the $5,000-to-win event. The weekend draws to a close on Sunday evening at Hagerstown (Md.) Speedway with a $4,000-to-win race.
