TMAC Picks Up Pair of Top-10’s in Preparation for Jackson Nationals

PETERSEN MEDIA: Two nights of action in the Midwest were on the docket for Terry McCarl and Destiny Motorsports over the weekend, and when it was all said and done TMAC would pick up two Top-10 finishes, though he would overcome some issues to accomplish these results.

“We put a new Maxim together for the weekend, and on Friday night we had fuel issues that essentially didn’t allow us to time in,” Terry McCarl said. “We were in for quite the uphill battle, but the guys stayed the course and we really turned our night around.”

Officially getting credited with the 32nd fastest lap in time trials at the Jackson Motorplex, TMAC would go to work in his heat race aboard the MonDak Portables/Ft. Union Supply and Trading/TheSnowPlow.com backed No. 4 machine.

Lining up eighth, the Altoona, IA driver would get his elbows up and make his new Maxim work hard. Racing his way to a fifth-place finish, he would transfer to the feature event where he took the green flag from the 18th spot.

Working his way forward on the racy Jackson Motorplex surface, a slowing car would cause TMAC to lose all of his momentum and he would fall all the way back to nearly last on the field.

Despite the yellow flag only flying one time during the race, McCarl would put on a fine charge through the field. Hitting on all cylinders heading into this weekend’s Jackson Nationals event, TMAC capped his night with a charge all the way up to ninth.

Heading to Knoxville Raceway on Saturday night, McCarl continued to show the speed he put on display Friday night by timing the STC/Real-Geese/T.H. Custom Mfg. machine in third fastest in qualifying time trials.

Picking up a second-place finish in heat race competition, McCarl moved into the feature event where he took the green flag from the seventh spot. On the historic half mile, TMAC would note they were a bit loose on car set up and it made moving forward tricky.

Holding pace in the seventh spot for the duration of the race, McCarl capped his weekend with a seventh-place fun, giving him a pair of Top-10’s for the weekend.

“The new car felt great, and worked well all weekend long,” McCarl said. “We missed it a little in the feature Saturday night, but feeling good about heading into this weekend’s Jackson Nationals.”
MERCH ALERT- New Terry McCarl “Made America Race Again” shirts are now available for purchase, and will be on sale this weekend at the McCarl Racing T-Shirt trailer along with Carson and Austin McCarl apparel.
