Destiny Motorsports Re-Tooling To End 2017 and Beyond

(Petersen Media)- As the 2017 Fall west coast swing comes to a close, Destiny Motorsports will go through a slight reorganization to close the season as Paul McMahan will step aside from his driving responsibilities and fill the role as team manager, and young gun Parker Price-Miller will take over the driving duties starting next week at Eldora Speedway.

“First and foremost, I am not done racing by any means,” Paul McMahan said. “Having a lot of deep and thorough conversations with Rick Rogers, this move was the best thing for Destiny Motorsports moving forward and I have all the confidence in the world that Parker will do a great job, and I am looking forward to working with him as a mentor. As for myself, I will look to piece together a limited schedule and hopefully run a 40-50 race schedule next year. Rick and Barb Rogers have followed through on everything they have said since day one, and this decision has been tough for everyone. It is a little bittersweet to step aside, but in the big picture the timing makes sense to allow everyone to get a head start on the 2018 season.”

Price-Miller, who filled in for McMahan when he was injured during the 2016 season, is amidst a successful 2017 campaign that saw him score his first career World of Outlaws race earlier in the season. Currently competing in the Canadian Nationals, he will meet up with the team in Indiana before he hits the track when the World of Outlaws attack Eldora Speedway and Lernerville Speedway next weekend.

“I have to thank Justin Agee for believing in me these last two years and giving me a great opportunity to drive for him,” Price-Miller said. “I will always be thankful for what he and Agee Farms did for me, and I am excited that they, along with Triple X, and CSI , will continue support me in my new venture. Hill’s Family Racing and Tow Line Variety have also played a huge role in my career over the last few years, and I am hoping to run well for them tonight in Canada, and I also owe them a lot. To be an outlaw is a dream come true, and this is a level that I hope I can stay at as a driver. I am coming in during a very tough part of the schedule but I will be fortunate to have Paul McMahan, Shane Bowers, and the rest of the crew in my corner as I go through some learning curves. I really have to thank Rick and Barb Rogers for having faith in a young kid like myself to represent their team at the highest level. I vow to them to give 110% night in and night out. Last but certainly not least, I have to thank Paul McMahan. Last year when he got hurt he pushed hard for me to replace him to get my name out there, and to put this all together means the world to me. Filling him for him that weekend has done more for me and my career then people know, and I am very thankful to have his friendship.”

With this reorganization, car owners Rick and Barb Rogers want to make it clear that this move is strictly for the well-being, and longevity of Destiny Motorsports. It is a decision that has not been taken lightly.

“Barb and I absolutely love Paul McMahan, and he will remain with Destiny Motorsports as long as he wants to,” Rick Rogers said. “I really want people to understand that this is not a performance based move, and in fact it is a move and an idea that Paul brought to us to be able to keep our team racing with the best. We have been fortunate to get to know Parker after he filled in for Paul in 2016, and we are very excited to team up with him and watch him develop as a racecar driver. We know he can stand on the gas, and that’s big because he has some big shoes to fill, and we look forward to having him represent Destiny Motorsports.”

With the change taking place next week, the task at hand for Destiny Motorsports and Paul McMahan is closing out the California swing tonight in Calistoga, CA, a track that McMahan has had immense success at over the course of his career including four feature event wins and a track championship.
