Holland scores runner-up finish at Deep South Speedway

Chase Holland traveled to Loxley, Alabama’s Deep South Speedway over the weekend to take part in the track’s “King of the Mods” program paying $3,000 to win.

On Friday evening, Holland set quick time in qualifying with a 16.477-second lap and won his heat race from the pole on the 3/8-mile clay oval.

Holland started first for Saturday’s 30-lap main event, but was caught up in an accident which flattened the left-rear tire on his No. 45 machine.

He drove back through the field to finish in the runner-up spot, 1.187 seconds behind winner Jade Luzenberg. Third place went to Todd Neiheiser, with Ronnie Roberts Jr. fourth and Ryan Fowler fifth. The Saturday portion of the event drew 15 Modified entries.
