Holland wins at Deep South Speedway
On Friday night, Chase Holland made a last-minute decision to race at Deep South Speedway (Loxley, Alabama) the following evening. The choice paid off, as he walked away from the track on Saturday with the $1,200 winner’s prize in the UMP Modified division.
Holland’s No. 45 car was among 13 Modifieds in the pits at the 3/8-mile clay oval during Deep South’s championship weekend. The driver from Success, Mississippi, won his heat race and began the 20-lap main event from the second spot.
He grabbed the lead on the first lap of the feature and led the full distance, scoring the victory by .047 seconds over Jade Luzenberg. Kevin Cumbie rounded out the podium, with Heath Williams finishing fourth and Randall Schwetz coming home fifth.
The win was Holland’s fourth overall this season.
