Goldesberry Brings Momentum Into IRA Summer Break
“Battling through adversity” has been the trend of Jordan Goldesberry’s 2024 season so far, even if that’s not what the 2022 IRA Champion had in mind.
“We’ve been so fast in A Mains this year.” Goldesberry affirmed. “However our early night speed just hasn’t been there whether it’s been due to a bad pill draw, bad luck, or our own mistakes. It was kind of the same story at Beaver Dam.”
Goldesberry flipped in qualifying at Beaver Dam with the IRA on June 29th, but thanks to the Rockstar Energy Drink team and help from other IRA teams in the pits, the #65 made the call for the heat race and B Main, which the Springfield, IL native dominated.
A 19th to 8th run in the A Main earned Goldesberry the hard charger award, but the result was bittersweet once again.
“That mistake in qualifying probably cost us a podium.” The 10x IRA Feature winner admitted. “Then the track took rubber on the top and hindered our run as well. It’s good to know we can still scratch out a solid finish after starting the night like that, but it’s definitely about time we start up front instead of having to come through the field.”
With the IRA off for 4th of July weekend and this coming week to allow local teams to run with the World of Outlaws, Goldesberry and the #65 team are electing to take some time to reassess and regroup while also spending time with family.
“We’ll be back on track once the IRA returns to action at Norman County [Minnesota] and Grand Forks [River Cities Speedway, North Dakota].” Goldesberry assured. “It’s been good having some time off but we’re excited to get back after it. We’ve always had pretty good speed during the northern swing in the past and hopefully we can put in some solid nights.”
The Buffalo Wild Wings “King of the Wings” weekend will kick off on Thursday, July 18th at the IRA’s first visit to the Norman County Raceway in Ada, MN, followed by two nights at the River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, ND. All three events will be co-sanctioned with the Northern Outlaw Sprint Association (NOSA).
Tickets for the fan favorite weekend will be available at the tracks on race day, and as always the entire Northern swing will be broadcast LIVE on FloRacing.
