Inside Line Promotions – KNOXVILLE, Iowa (June 15, 2021) – Brian Brown garnered two top 10s at Knoxville Raceway last weekend during the Brownells Big Guns Bash, giving him six straight top-10 finishes with the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series.

That provides momentum entering a busy weekend, which features a World of Outlaws show, a Camping World SRX Series event and the start to THE SHOWDOWN.

June 11 – Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa – Qualifying: 2; Heat race: 1 (1); Dash: 6 (7); Feature: 8 (6).

“It seemed like it was going to be one of those nights,” Brown said. “It started off with an ignition issue so we didn’t really get to hot lap. We got that fixed and were able to go out and set the second quickest time in qualifying. Then we won the heat. The dash draw wasn’t the best in the world for us, but we picked up a row by going seventh to sixth. However, we took a rock through the radiator and blew the water out of the engine. We had a lot of work in between the dash and the feature, and not a lot of time to work on our car. We started sixth and ran eighth (in the feature). I didn’t feel that I was that bad, but I didn’t feel like I was great. I was as good as the guys in front of me, but not good enough to pass them.”

June 12 – Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa – Qualifying: 10; Heat race: 3 (5); Feature: 10 (11).

“We didn’t get qualified as well as I would have liked,” Brown said. “I didn’t feel like I made very good laps. Then we got a dash for our heat race as seven of the eight drivers in Friday’s dash were in our heat race. We were able to go from fifth to third and I felt we were good enough to make the dash. We just didn’t get by Kerry (Madsen). At that point it was a pretty good comeback based on the second row with David Gravel and Donny Schatz and the third row with us and Brad Sweet. You could easily be in the B Main with that lineup. I was pleased there. In the feature the track got a little one lane where you couldn’t make much happen. Going into the weekend if you said we’d run eighth and 10th I wouldn’t be happy. Friday was an adventure and Saturday I didn’t do a good job in qualifying, but we were able to unbury ourselves. I think there will be a lot of parity at the Knoxville Nationals. Whoever is rolling good at that time will have a good week.”

UP NEXT – Thursday at 34 Raceway in West Burlington, Iowa, with the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series; Saturday at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, with the Camping World SRX Series; and Sunday at Huset’s Speedway in Brandon, S.D., to start THE SHOWDOWN featuring the Chuck Zitterich Tribute

“Burlington has always been a track we’ve been decent at,” Brown said. “I think we got a podium there with the Outlaws back in the day. And I’m very excited for the SRX race on Saturday at Knoxville. It’s an opportunity to race on a national stage against my heroes; Tony (Stewart), Bill Elliott, Willy T. Ribbs, Helio (Castroneves) just won the Indy 500 and Marco Andretti. I don’t know what to expect. I hope we can adapt well and have a good showing for the dirt track community. Then we start a busy week in South Dakota and Minnesota at Huset’s. We were able to win an NSL race there a few years go. With Tod (Quiring) taking over it’s in the best hands. I’m looking forward to a huge week up there.”
