Inside Line Promotions – SARVER, Pa. (Sept. 30, 2019) – Brian Brown highlighted his weekend by earning his second top five and fourth top 10 in as many starts at Williams Grove Speedway this season during a tune-up last Friday for the Champion Racing Oil National Open.

Sept. 27 – Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pa. – Qualifying: 5; Heat race: 2 (2); Dash: 4 (4); Feature: 4 (4).

“We were pretty good and it was really an uneventful night,” Brown said. “We qualified well and were good in the heat running second to Lance (Dewease). We ran fourth in the dash. We got a pretty good start on the initial start of the feature and got to third, but a red came out. Then we ran fourth the whole race. Overall I feel like I’m getting more comfortable and learning more tricks that can help you there. Our idea of coming out to spend more time and run more laps was to prepare for big events. Hopefully our trial and error will pay dividends at the National Open.”

Sept. 28 – Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pa. – Qualifying: 4; Heat race: 1 (1); Dash: 6 (3); Feature: 14 (6).

“We weren’t any good in hot laps, but Chad made some changes to the car and woke it up,” Brown said. “We were good in qualifying and we were able to win the heat. From that point on we weren’t that good. We went backwards a little in the dash. We’d only been there twice and we felt like sooner or later it’d get slick. If anything it went heavier. We went the wrong way with changes for the main event. We were way, way too tight. Sometimes experience wins and we don’t have the experience there and we guessed wrong.”

UP NEXT – Friday and Saturday at Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pa., for the Champion Racing Oil National Open with the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series

“We’ve been pretty good there,” Brown said. “Every lap I make there I feel more comfortable. That should pay dividends this weekend. Our Charlie Garrett engines are really good. Qualifying well will set up your night. Hopefully we can do our job and set ourselves up early. There’s a lot of money on the line, but a lot of things have to fall in order before you can race for the money.”
