Brian Brown Posts Podium Performance During Nittany Showdown

Inside Line Promotions – PORT ROYAL, Pa. (Oct. 30, 2019) – Brian Brown earned his 15th podium finish of the season last Friday during the opening night of the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series Nittany Showdown.
The Port Royal Speedway event finale rained out on Saturday.
Oct. 25 – Port Royal Speedway in Port Royal, Pa. – Qualifying: 1; Heat race: 1 (1); Dash: 1 (1); Feature: 3 (2).
“It was a weekend we looked forward to after having some good runs there this year,” Brown said. “We had a good idea of how we wanted to attack it. We were almost at the top of the board in hot laps. We made a few adjustments and were able to get quick time in qualifying even going out late. Qualifying sets up the night. We were able to win the heat. Then we drew a good number and won the dash.
“I felt like I had a good car and ran with (Donny) Schatz the majority of the first half of the feature. They had a red and I changed my line up in turns three and four. I felt like we were running his speed. We developed a little vibration late and couldn’t run as hard as I’d like. I’m glad we were able to finish and get a podium.”

“I feel like as a team our confidence is as high as it’s been for a long time,” Brown said. “We’ve been qualifying well and racing well. I’m looking forward to Charlotte more than we ever have. Chad, Nate and dad have been making sure we have phenomenal cars and are ready to roll. I’m hoping to get ourselves qualified good for both nights. Hopefully we can have two good qualifying efforts to get on the front row of the heats on Friday and Saturday and let the rest of it take care of itself. The quality of cars at that race is second to none. You have to get qualified well.”
