Inside Line Promotions – KNOXVILLE, Iowa (Aug. 27, 2019) – Brian Brown wrapped up his third track championship at the famed Knoxville Raceway last Saturday.

He also won 410ci winged sprint car titles at the half-mile oval in 2007 and 2010.

“I want to thank Chad, Nate, grandpa, dad as well as all of our partners that believe in us and our product sponsors,” Brown said. “We have a great team assembled and I’m proud of them.

“Our Knoxville package is really good and I’ve got a good team assembled that we can do that. Winning the championship at Knoxville is not easy. For our sponsors Casey’s and FVP and people that like it’s important. We won five races at Knoxville this year and one was a World of Outlaws show. That was pretty cool.”

Aug. 24 – Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa – Qualifying: 1; Heat race: 4 (6); Feature: 7 (7).

“Knowing that we had a decent lead in the standings and we just had to hot lap, qualify and run the heat makes it less stressful running for a championship,” Brown said. “We didn’t start the year saying we’re going to run for the championship. We knew we’d miss two point nights. We hoped if we ran well enough we’d be in the top five. That was cool to win it.

“We wanted to go in there on Saturday and set quick time and we were able to do that. In the heat race we were pretty good, but a little too tight. There’s not many opportunities we have at Knoxville to try stuff with no repercussions. Saturday was one of those. There were some things that went good, but some things that went bad. I had a top-five car, but got passed on a late restart when I got over the cushion. We just tried something we normally wouldn’t try and we learned some stuff.”

UP NEXT – Friday at Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pa.; Saturday at Port Royal Speedway in Port Royal, Pa.; Sunday at Selinsgrove Speedway in Selinsgrove, Pa.; and Monday at Port Royal Speedway

“Pennsylvania is a part of our yearly tour that we really enjoy,” Brown said. “We’re not expected to win, but we’re hoping to go in and have some good results and be in contention to win some races. There’s a lot of money on the line the next few weeks. We’ll play it night by night. The fans are great out there so we’re looking forward to seeing them. Williams Grove is a place we’re seeming to get a handle on. Port Royal is a track I really like and so is Selinsgrove. This should be a fun weekend.”

SEASON STATS –
