Driver Information

From childhood, Kevin Zielezinski has been racing everything he could afford. From slot cars to go karts, his passion for excellence in competitive racing drove him to pursue any vehicle related avenue he could. At a young age, his talent became evident through online racing simulators and ease at which he adapted to high speed situations. Not only does he contain the raw talent of the best drivers, his hard work and dedication to the sport have shown his inability to give up on his dream.
In 2011, Kevin began working for the Lorz Motorsports team as a tire specialist and shop hand. At the same time, he pursued his bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering while designing and driving the NIU Motorsports Formula SAE racecar. During his college career, he used his knowledge of racecar dynamics gained through extensive research and racing simulation programs, like IRacing, and applied it to design and build a revolutionary vehicle suspension system for the NIU Motorsports racecar. He then used this knowledge to simulate the Lorz Motorsports vehicle suspension in both the SolidWorks and Optimum G programs. Kevin’s in depth understanding of racecar handling and overall vehicle performance provides him an advantage that very few drivers in the CRA series contain.
In one year, his position with Lorz Motorsports increased from tire specialist to a crucial member providing engineering advice and vehicle adjustment assistance. In 2013, Lorz Motorsports and Kevin signed a contract to allow him to test their CRA Jegs Allstars Tour car. After only three tests at Grundy Speedway, Lorz Motorsports entered Kevin into his first two back to back races, where he not only received several awards, but finished in the top twenty while gaining notoriety throughout the CRA racing community.
In 2014, Kevin entered 6 Jegs/CRA Allstars tour races in the Lorz Motorsports racecar which resulted in 3 top 15 finishes and 2 top 20 finishes. He improved with every race and continually surpassed his goal for the season of getting seat time, learning, and finishing undamaged. Kevin will use these experiences and extensive knowledge of racing to follow his passion to become the series champion, and move to the ARCA racing series in 2016.
