Garett Goodwin

Clear Skies in Goodwin’s Forecast

Anticipation last season was higher than ever when Goodwin revealed he was moving on from the INEX Legends and heading up to race with the big boys in the ASA Midwest Truck Tour. After a whirlwind of motor problems that rocked Garett and the GGR crew in 2011, Goodwin managed to make four races only to be defeated in three of those races due to unknown motor issues. With a positive attitude and perseverance, Goodwin was able to shake off the troubles and strive through with the GGR crew and try to solve the problem with the motor. Racing for Garett came to an end in August due to motor failures while racing at Hawkeye Downs Speedway in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Then a chance came up for Garett to suit up and get behind the wheel of a Super Late Model with the help of Sevey Motorsports. Goodwin was more than happy to accept the challenge at hand and is ready to make up for last racing season and come in to the 2012 season stronger than ever.

Garett is excited to be heading back to his home track at Illiana Motor Speedway in Schererville, Indiana. He states, “I haven’t raced at Illiana since the 2010 season in the #29 Legend car, and I am more than ready to be back.” There is great hope for the 2012 season for Goodwin and the spirits of the GGR crew are soaring. The team hopes to come in strong and be a tough competitor to the fellow racers on the track and hope to bring home strong finishes in the process. Patience is running short for Goodwin as the first race approaches closer. “I can’t wait to be back behind the wheel again,” he continues, “It’s been a long off-season and I am ready to get back at it.” Goodwin and the GGR crew are devoting every possible minute to the #29 Super Late Model to get it race ready. This 2012 season is said to be the best one yet for Goodwin as he and the crew are putting the finishing touches on the #29 Super Late Model.

More information will be available on when Garett's first race will be. Stay tuned for more to come in the next few weeks as the team gears up on preparing the car for their first race!
