Golden Jubilee Season Brings Change to Can-Am Kart Track

As the Golden Jubilee Season continues on at the Can-Am Speedway, the 2024 season has seen plenty of new things and one of those is the recent change to the layout of the Can-Am Speedway Go-Kart track.

Recently those who have come to Can-Am on Friday nights, are used to the traditional look of the track with the front stretch located behind the grandstands of the big track and the back straight away lined up with the main parking lot. That has changed as the flag stand and start/finish line have now been moved, basically flipping the race track for the first time since the kart track first opened on June 12th of 1992.

A few changes have gone on to help improve the facility over the last few weeks and the action on the kart track has also improved. The track, which was once a very wide speedway has been narrowed by at least one groove but the track has since turned into a multi-lane facility.

Other improvements to the karting facility include new fencing on the new front straight away plus new restroom facilities for the pit area.

This past week plenty of spectators were on hand to watch and every Saturday night during the kart races spectator admission is always free. Over the 10 divisions at Can-Am nearly 80 entries signed into the pit area last week and the racing was exciting every lap.

Fans that take in the racing action are welcome to join the fun on Saturday nights, as this is where the future stars of the big track come from. Drivers like Tim McCreadie, Frankie Caprara, Billy Dunn, Ryan Bartlett and a host of others have made the jump and reached victory lane on the big track, in front of a packed house nearly every week, on multiple occasions. So you could very well be seeing the next starts of the big track.

Racing action is set to return this coming Saturday night June the 8th with a full program of racing in all 10 divisions, featuring young up and coming stars to long time veterans of the sport. Gates open at 3pm with racing beginning at 5:15 and with the action non-stop, its always a quick night of racing, leaving fans to enjoy the rest of their Saturday evening after the races.
