155 cars rolled into the pits looking to beat an adversary in Mother Nature that had won the previous three weeks. With beautiful weather in the forecast it looked as if a race night could get complete for the first time since June 14th. With the Seubert Calf Ranches Late Models on the docket for the second time this season the action on the track was sure to be hotter than the ever climbing mercury in the thermometer.

Justin Schmidt grabbed the opening lap lead away from fellow front row starter, Kyle Frederick, at the drop of the green for the Seubert Calf Ranches Late Model A-main event. A quick caution with only a single lap scored slowed the pace and set the stage for a restart that saw Justin Ritchie move to 2nd and Jayden Schmidt slide to 3rd. On lap 6 Schimdt moved past Ritchie into 2nd and Troy Springborn also wrestled away 3rd from Ritchie. Jayden Schmidt then set about running down the race leading Justin Schmidt. By lap 11 Jayden Schmidt was hot on the heels of the leader and threw a daring slider into turn 2 on lap 12 to grab the lead. Contact between the two Schmidts wiped out lap 13 and saw Justin Schmidt ruled the cause and Jayden Schmidt got his spot back at the top of the order. Jayden Schmidt was able to hold off all comers even after a late restart to capture his first late model win of the season in Seymour. Troy Springborn was 2nd, “Mighty” Mike Mullen 3rd, Taylor Scheffler 4th, and Brad Mueller (fresh off a Slinger Nationals win) rounded out the top 5.

The Professional Plating IMCA Modified feature event kicked off with the 11C of Adam Crapser grabbing the early lead as Derek Janke and Dan Roedl fell into a hotly contested, side by side battle for 2nd. Caution slowed the pace with 6 laps complete. Skyler Woods took advantage of the restart to slide into 3rd. Woods and Roedl set to work fighting over the runner up spot as Crapser tried to open a gap on the rest of the field. By lap 12 Roedl and Woods made it past Crapser with Flyin’ Brian Mullen moving to 3rd. That trio fell into a battle for the top spot as Woods ran the low line, Roedl the top line, and Mullen tried, repeatedly, to thread the needle between the two for the lead. Woods emerged from that fight with the top spot but in the closing laps saw a fresh challenge close the gap as Cole Czarneski fought his way to 2nd on lap 18 and tried desperately to reel in the race leader. Czarneski’s efforts would fall just short as Woods held on for the win, Czarneski was 2nd, “The Hitman” Johnny Whitman grabbed 3rd in the closing laps, Mullen was 4th, and Roedl hung on for a top 5 finish.

The Monroe Truck Equipment IMCA Stock Cars showed once again why they are dubbed “The Class Too Tough To Tame” as Ryan Lujeck jumped to the lap one lead but Jesse Krahn bounced to the outside line to wrestle away the lead on lap 2. Krahn was immediately joined at the front by Devin Snellenberger and Brett Wenzel and the trio staged a spirited side by side by side battle for the top spot. Wenzel emerged from that scrum with the lead on lap 5. Meanwhile the most recent class winner, “Hot” Rod Snellenberger was wasting no time slicing through the field, moving to 4th on lap 7 and then 3rd on lap 8. Snellenberger’s charge through the field slowed as it took him until lap 14 to move into 2nd. Caution slowed the pace with 5 circuits remaining an bunched the field behind the still leading Wenzel. Hot rod would restart 2nd, Krahn 3rd, Devin Snellenberger 4th, and Brandon Czarapata 5th. Hot Rod utilized the restart to grab the lead from Wenzel while Czarapata moved up to 3rd. When the checkers flew Hot Rod held on for his 2nd win of the season, Wenzel was 2nd, Czarapata 3rd, Krahn held on for 4th and Devin Snellenberger completed the top 5.

Jordan Jahnke shot from 4th to the lead on the opening lap of the Trailer Express IMCA Northern Sport Mod A-main event. That lead was was immediately under duress as Colton See fought by to the front on the 2nd lap only to see Jahnke back to the lead on lap 3. Jahnke survived a mid race caution to grab the win. Ryan Schmidt came home 2nd, Max Oreskovich was 3rd, See 4th, and Jake Carpenter came home 5th after starting 15th.

Brian Besaw used the pole position to its fullest advantage to lead the opening lap of the Vetting Customs Rigs and Rides Unified Dirt Street Stock feature event. Malchi Bierman slide to 2nd on the opening laps while Paul Diefenthaler raced to 3rd and Trey Van Straten to 4th. That pair succumbed to Kyle Gennett as Gennett powered by into 2nd on lap 11 and then into the lead on lap 12. Justin Jacobsen had worked to 3rd place on lap 13 but his 1330 machine retired from the event on lap 14. The closing laps saw Gennett hang on to capture the win, Van Straten was 2ndm Diefenthaler 3rd, Besaw 4th, and Bierman rounded out the top 5.

Alexis Czarapata took the early lead of the Schulte Showers and Construction / Building Blocks Childcare Center IMCA Sport Compact A-main event. Logan Boehnlein shot by into the top spot on lap 2 though with Cody Booth quickly running up to 2nd on lap 6. Booth and Boehnlein dropped into a door to door battle for the lead that Booth ended up winning. As the checkers fell Booth was able to hold on for the win, Boehnlein was 2nd, Al Cottrell 3rd, Thomas Shulte 4th, and TJ Everard grabbed 5th with a last lap pass.
