Big Game Motorsports and Gravel Post Podium During AGCO Jackson Nationals

Inside Line Promotions – JACKSON, Minn. (Aug. 24, 2022) – David Gravel capped the 44th annual AGCO Jackson Nationals with a podium performance last Saturday at Jackson Motorplex.

The three-day World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series event was hampered by rain. Thursday’s preliminary night was cancelled and Friday’s round was postponed to Saturday afternoon.

The Big Game Motorsports driver opened the busy day by qualifying seventh quickest in his group. A run from fourth to third place in a heat race was followed by Gravel advancing from 10th to seventh in the A Main.

Several hours later the nightcap began with Gravel timing in ninth quickest out of the 40 drivers. He then hustled from sixth to second place in a heat race to rank fourth in event points, locking him into the King of the Hill. Gravel advanced through his initial round to make the championship, which he ended with the second-best time to garner the outside front row starting position into the main event.

Gravel ran second early in the feature before dropping a position. A close call on a restart cost him two more spots, but Gravel battled back in the second half of the race to regain third place.

The team returns to action this Friday at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, N.D., during the Second Leg of the Northern Tour and Saturday at Red River Valley Speedway in West Fargo, N.D., during the Duel in the Dakotas.

Gravel earned a World of Outlaws win at River Cities Speedway in 2017. He placed fifth at the track earlier this season.

Gravel finished a career-best second at Red River Valley Speedway last year.
