Inside Line Promotions – EAGLE, Neb. (July 24, 2018) – Jack Dover recorded his 11th podium finish of the season a week ago Tuesday to highlight last week’s action.

Dover competed with the Midwest Sprint Touring Series at Rapid Speedway in Rock Rapids, Iowa, where he advanced from fifth to third place in a heat race to earn enough points to make the feature redraw.

“The track was really good,” he said. “The track wasn’t real great in previous times, but it was heavy and smooth last week. We were the last car in the feature redraw and there was the No. 1 and No. 8 remaining. The guy in front of me got the No. 1 so that started us eighth.

“To be able to go from eighth to second was pretty awesome considering we spun with three laps to go and kept it going. We were side by side in turns three and four for second place. He spun in front of me and I was able to keep it going.”

Dover’s second-place finish was his 15th top five of the season.

He ventured to Jackson Motorplex in Jackson, Minn., on Friday when Dover piloted a sprint car for Chris Bowers during the Carpet Land Nebraska 360 Sprints and Midwest Sprint Touring Series event.

Dover won his heat race from the pole position, which lined him up ninth for the A Main.

“We were really good in the heat so we didn’t touch the setup much,” he said. “We tightened it up a hair. We got a couple of cars in the beginning and a couple more throughout the race. The left side board on my top wing broke and was completely laid down about two laps in. It stayed attached, but was flat. That was a disadvantage. We were running fifth and there was a yellow with three laps to go. A guy got by so we finished sixth, which was still pretty good given the circumstances.”

Dover wrapped up the weekend on Saturday at Eagle Raceway. Unfortunately, a u-joint problem hindered the team throughout the night. Dover was unable to finish his heat race or start the B Main because of the problem.

He is scheduled to return to action this Friday at I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, Neb., with the Carpet Land Nebraska 360 Sprints before venturing to Eagle Raceway on Saturday.
