Jackson Motorplex Reaches Midpoint of Season with Doubleheader This Weekend

Inside Line Promotions – JACKSON, Minn. (July 4, 2016) – This weekend’s doubleheader marks the midpoint of the season at Jackson Motorplex, which hosts an all sprint car spectacle on Friday before Saturday’s IMCA program.
Friday is National Wild Turkey Federation Night and ASI Contracting Night at the half-mile oval, where Last-Deck® 360 Sprint Cars will showcase double features. Both main events will pay $1,500 to win with the second main event featuring a 12-car inversion of cars on the lead lap. The first feature is also the Wayne Gohr Memorial in honor of the former longtime employee at the track.
Liquid Nitro IMCA 305 Sprint Cars and Heartland Racing Association non-wing sprints are also part of Friday’s event.
Kaley Gharst enters this weekend with a three-point lead in the Last-Deck® 360 Sprint Cars championship standings over Skylar Prochaska. Gregg Bakker, who won his first race of the season at Jackson Motorplex last weekend, is only 15 points out of the lead.
Mike Stien holds a two-point advantage over two-time winner Kaleb Johnson in the Liquid Nitro IMCA 305 Sprint Cars standings with Nate Eakin only four points behind Stien.
Tickets for Friday are $18 for adult general admission, $15 for seniors ages 65 and older, $10 for students ages 13 to 18 and free for children ages 12 and younger. Pit passes are $30.
The pits are slated to open at 4:30 p.m. with the front gates opening at 5:30 p.m. Hot laps will begin around 7:30 p.m.

Saturday is Bank Midwest Night and will feature the Wilmont Oil IMCA a mods, Bohl’s Small Engine & Marine IMCA sport mods, Minnesota West – Jackson Campus IMCA hobby stocks, Boji Bay Water Park IMCA sport compacts and After Hours Graphics & Tees IMCA stock cars.
Don Gerritsen Jr. took over the lead in the Wilmont Oil IMCA a mods championship standings last weekend. Luke Sathoff is on top of the After Hours Graphics & Tees IMCA stock cars standings and Matthew Looft is leading the Bohl’s Small Engine & Marine IMCA sport mods standings.
Justin Luinenburg (Minnesota West – Jackson Campus IMCA hobby stocks) and Nate Coopman (Boji Bay Water Park IMCA sport compacts) are both undefeated through six races this season.
Tickets for Saturday’s program are $12 for adults, $10 for seniors ages 65 and older, $6 for students ages 13 to 18 and free for children ages 12 and younger. Pit passes are $30.
The pits will open at 4 p.m. with the main gates opening at 5 p.m. Hot laps are scheduled for 7 p.m.
