2024 Point Champions Crowned at Lancaster Motorplex

LANCASTER, N.Y. (September 16, 2024) – Lancaster Motorplex management has made the decision that after the rainout on September 7, the 2024 points have been decided. After considering the dates with end of the year races at area speedways, speedway management made the decision as no adequate dates were available to run the season championship events.

George Skora III from Eden, NY won his second Insinger Performance/VP Race Fuels Sportsman track championship in three seasons by 22 points over reigning divisional champion Tony Carbone. Tim Garlock, Shawn Nye, and Jake Christman rounded out the top five in points. 36 different drivers received points in 2024, marking the highest for the division in the region.

Mark Hoch from West Seneca, NY secured his third consecutive Monroe Extinguisher Street Stock Championship over Dustin Novoa, Mike Dalfonso, Dave Johnson, and Gary Bartella.

Kyle Casper from Cheektowaga, NY won the 4 Cylinder track championship by 12 points over 2023 champion Chris Deyoe Jr and 29 points over Hunter McKay. Andy Danielwicz and Mason Offhaus completes the top five in points.

The champions will get to celebrate their championships at the end of the year awards banquet, which is set for November 9 at the Lancaster Elks Club.

Up next on the Lancaster Motorplex schedule is the 36th running of the US Open Weekend set for September 27 and 28. On Friday, September 27, qualifying heats will be run for the Insinger Performance/VP Race Fuels Sportsman, Monroe Extinguisher Street Stocks, Mighty TQ Midgets, Late Models, Super Stocks, and 4 Cylinders. The 4 Cylinders will take center stage with their US Open race under the lights on the Lancaster ¼-mile oval. Friday, pit gates open at 3pm, grandstand gates and practice will take place at 5:30pm, and racing will get underway at 8pm. Grandstand admission is $15 for adults, Seniors (65 +) and military $10, students 11-16 $5, and kids 5 and under will be admitted free. All students 17 and under MUST be accompanied by a paid adult admission. Pit admission is $30.

Then on Saturday, qualifying heats will take place for the Rusty Diamond Core Pro 4s and the Tour-Type Modifieds will take place. Then we will head to feature mode. The Tour-Type Modifieds will run a 101-lap event. The 101 comes from the track’s 65th anniversary plus the 36 for the 36th running of the US Open. The Insinger Performance/VP Race Fuels Sportsman will race their 50-lap showdown, and the Monroe Extinguisher Street Stocks will race in a 35-lap feature. The Rusty Diamond Cores Pro 4’s will race in their 15-lap event. The Mighty TQ Midgets will race their 20-lap feature. The Super Stocks will race a 40-lap race. The Late Models will run a 30-lap event.
Grandstand admission on the Saturday of US Open Weekend is $45 for adults, $40 for seniors and veterans, students 11-16 are $15, and kids 10 and under are admitted FREE. Pit passes are $50 for Saturday. Pit gates on Saturday will open at 9am, with practice and grandstands opening at 11am, and racing will get underway at 1pm. Sunday, September 29th will be utilized as a rain date if needed. Two-day pit passes are $70 and personal vehicles will cost $20 to park in the pits per day. Camping will be $25.
