John DeAngelis Jr. Victorious in Falloween 150
Wisconsin Dells WI 10/23/21-John DeAngelis Jr of Hubertus WI captured the $5000 to win Falloween 150 UMA Super late Model stock car race presented by Ho-Chunk Gaming of Wisconsin Dells Saturday at Dells Raceway Park by holding off Dalton Zehr (Menomonee, MI) and Casey Johnson (Edgerton WI) in the closing laps of an exciting finish.
Rich Bickle (Edgerton WI) and Justin Mondeik (Merrill, WI) brought the 26 car field to green and swapped the lead back and forth for the first dozen laps of the event until the pair got together coming out of turn four and sent both drivers to the rear of the field. On the double file restart DeAngelis would grab the lead with heavy pressure for Ty Majeski (Seymour WI) and point leader Luke Fenhaus (Wausau, WI). DeAngelis would hold the lead until lap 35 when the 17 year old Fenhaus found his way to the front. Fenhaus would lead until lap 42 when DeAngelis would slip past once again and at the half way break on lap 75 if was DeAngelis, Fenhaus, Majeski, Jordon DeVoy (Lake Geneva, WI) and Gabe Sommers (Plover, WI) setting up the run to the finish. On the second half restart DeAngelis would lead lead once again but was under fire in the late going by Dalton Zehr, Ty Majeski, and Casey Johnson and then the final caution with 3 to go set up a late race shootout between the top four and DeAngelis drover hard to hold on for his biggest win in his young career followed by Johnson, Zehr, Majeski and Sommers rounding out the top five. In Earlier Action Ty Majeski was fastest in qualifying with a mark of 13.075 which tied his own track record, Bickle was the winner of the odd dash, Mondeik was the winner of the even dash. Qualifier winners were Zehr and Steve Apel (West Bend, WI) Nathan Matz (Burlington, WI) claimed the B-Main earning himself a transfer spot to the main event. Luke Fenhuas was crowned the 2021 Alive for 5 Series Champion for the season.
