Austin Johnson, Cadwallader, Glendenning, Dixon shine at I-35 Speedway

With only 2 nights left on the schedule at I-35 Speedway 131 cars checked in for some great side by side 3-4 wide racing that everyone expects at the famed dirt oval. Two drivers picked up their first ever wins and five others added to their stellar career totals.

First to hit the track was the ultra competitive E-Mod division. James "Bubba" Silkwood led wire to wire to pick up his first career win. Adam Dunwoodie, who picked up his first career win earlier this season would put the pressure on lap after lap but would eventually fade to third late as Briceson Crockett would slip by for second. George Burnett picked up fourth with Logan Rash fifth.

In Pure Stock action Blake Peeler would put Brandon Hoover's 27h machine back in victory Lane for the second straight week. Last week Hoover drove it to his first career win. Brandon Dixon would lead early before Peeler slipped by. Dixon would finish second, Travis Cavin also an early leader and first time winner earlier this season would finish third, points leader Rieli Yonts would get fourth and Conrad Kaufman fifth.

Paul Glendenning picked up his 7th Midwest Limited Late Model win on the season as he waged war early with last weeks winner Shayne Bailey. Glendenning was able to pull away late. Bailey would finish second, Houston Johnson, who was also in the mix was third, points leader Kerry Davis was fourth followed by the driver he is battling for this seasons championship Tommy Cordray in fifth.

Tyler Cadwallader came in to the night with a point lead of well over 400 points in USRA B-Mod competition. Cadwallader added to that as he picked up win number 9 on the season. Early on Cadwallader traded the lead back and forth with Shadren Turner but Cadwallader proved to be to much on this night. Turner would finish second, Colin Pierce was third, Casey Burnett was fourth and Jake Richards fifth.

Jeff Dixon picked up his 8th USRA Stock Car feature win of 2021. The 2019 track champion has traveled around more this season than he ever has but continues to win on I-35 Speedway dirt. Dixon battles early with Nic Hanes, Brad Derry and Gary Donaldson but sped away to victory. Derry last week's feature winner was second, USRA Stock Car newcomer Nic Hanes held tough in third, Gary Donaldson driving his brand new stock car for the first time this season finished fourth and Doug Keller was fifth.

Austin Johnson has struggled through mechanical failures for much of 2021 while he's seen his brother in victory lane a total of 12 times. Austin finally got off the struggle bus picking up his first USRA Modified feature win of the season. Johnson held off the defending track champion Tyler Hibner, current points leader Houston Johnson, Shayne Bailey and Daniel Harris, a first time winner this year for the win.

Chris Wright finally got his new Sport Compact dialed in a picked up his first career win. Wright drove a flawless race holding off two time winner Brett Holman, Bobby Chilton, Andrew Akers and Keegan Russell.

Congratulations to the Fan of the Week Leann Wright sponsored by Devin Saler racing, Silkwood family racing, Knight Rider racing, Wild Child Nation, Shadren Turner racing, Reed racing and Manthe Motorsports.
