#Restore44 Rolls on this Saturday
On behalf of I44 Riverside Speedway promoters Mark Banister and Gloria Olexia, the I44 Riverside family looks forward to this Saturday, June 8th with great anticipation.
We continue the clean up effort and the cause to Restore 44 this Saturday, June 8th at 10am where we will tackle a few obstacles and cook up some lunch shortly thereafter. Come any and come all, come whenever you can, but we can only #Restore 44 with your help and support!
Following initial cleanup over Memorial Holiday Weekend in which volunteers from our surrounding communities came out to support us and assist; this past Sunday Kathy Bell, Flat Out Magazine's Stephanie Odom, and Factor One Racing Extraordinaire Kristy McDougal spearheaded a regional effort in huge support of the cause to #Restore 44. Special thanks to Cody Meade and Finish Line Designs for his efforts on behalf of I44 Riverside as well. We are forever touched and indebted to them for their efforts to help us through this adversity.
Restore44 rolls on this Saturday, June 8th as communities continue to unite in the effort to keep dirt track auto racing alive in the greater OKC metro! Forecast looks beautiful with day time highs around 80 degrees.
No worries on being prompt, we'll start it around 10am and have some lunch out for everyone and go from there. We do have some important announcements we will be making at the speedway this Saturday as well.
This is your chance to come support the local community that was devastated by the May 20th tornado. To support Mark and Gloria after they had their home leveled, to support the business they operate that was also destroyed, to support the local community that also supports us, and to support continuing the rich legacy of dirt track racing in the OKC Metro!
This is your chance to help #Restore44
Unfortunately, I must end this on a solemn and personal note. On behalf of Mark, Gloria, and the entire I44 Riverside family, I share our deepest condolences, our thoughts, and our prayers with those affected by the May 31st tornado here in the western OKC suburb of El Reno. As hard as Newcastle and Moore were hit in the May 20 tornado, it's almost incomprehensible that another record-breaking tornado would strike so close, it's why this release is coming today and not several days ago - as power and communications remain spotty out here in El Reno. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the 19 souls that were taken far too soon.
We also share both our love and our overwhelming sorrow with the Slaton family. This is easily our most personal and heartbreaking loss as Stacey Slaton recently passed away due to a prolonged battle with breast cancer. Our deepest prayers are with Greg, Alison and the entire Slaton family as the I44 Riverside family mourns their loss. But forever we will celebrate the courage and love with which she lived.
For I44 Riverside Speedway, for Moore, Newcastle, El Reno, Carney, Shawnee, and the Slaton family - we are all united and will to continue to band together and show the world what it means to be.........
