Mark Dobmeier to Drive for Alex Pettas During Third Annual Copper Classic

26 Promotions – Tempe, AZ – (November 21, 2018) – Alex Pettas had tapped Mark Dobmeier to pilot his number 2 Triple X machine as the Grand Forks, North Dakota driver will travel to the desert southwest for the third annual Copper Classic this weekend at Arizona Speedway.
“We hurt our motor during the last ASCS Southwest race at Canyon Speedway Park,” said Pettas. “We had a couple of opportunities to partner with someone else to run the Copper, but those deals fell through. I know Mark through a few friends, and we were able to work out a deal for him to run for me this weekend.”
Pettas, who currently sits fifth in ASCS Southwest Region points, will serve as a car owner for the first time this weekend.
“We had no other options. It was either I let the car sit in the garage or put somebody else in it,” he explained. “I’m really looking forward to having Mark run the car. I’ve never been a car owner so there’s a bit of nervousness and I’m super bummed to not be in the car myself.”
Dobmeier enters the Thanksgiving weekend event with 12 wins, 15 top five and 18 top ten finishes on the year.
Pettas hopes his familiarity with Arizona Speedway to go along with a championship driver will lead his team to victory lane on Friday and Saturday night.
The third annual Copper Classic takes place November 23rd and 24th at Arizona Speedway located at 47346 N. Ironwood Rd. in San Tan Valley, Arizona. The event will also be available via Speed Shift TV at http://www.speedshifttv.com.
