Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Southern Series Gears up for Huge 2022 Season

SOMERSET, KENTUCKY (October 23, 2021)—The Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Southern Series is gearing up for what will be the biggest season in tour history in 2022.

The preliminary schedule for next season has been released and although the 2021 season isn’t complete, preparations for the next season are in full swing.

A busy slate of 22 confirmed dates, two TBA’s, increased purses and an increased points fund are already putting an exclamation point on the 2022 season which is only a few months away.

The schedule will feature a minimum purse of $5,000-to-win events which pays $450-to-start the 22-car field. The points fund has also been increased to a record $12,000 to the 2022 series champion and paying the top-five positions at the seasons end. The schedule features purses and points money in excess of $600,000. The schedule also features at least seven five-figure paydays. The schedule features 22 events at eight different race tracks in Kentucky, Tennessee, Northern Georgia and Southern Indiana.

The series will begin on January 29th at Boyd’s Speedway in Ringgold, Ga. for the 14th Annual Cabin Fever Race paying $5,000-to-win during a non-points event. The first points race will be Saturday April 9 at I-75 Raceway in Sweetwater, Tenn. during the 18th Annual Iron-Man Classic which moves to I-75 Raceway for the first time. The 2022 season finale will again be at Mitch McCarter’s 411 Motor Speedway in Seymour, Tenn. on Saturday November 26th during the Seventh Annual Leftover Race paying $5,000-to-win. Ponderosa Speedway in Junction City, Ky., Tazewell (Tenn.) Speedway, Lake Cumberland Speedway in Burnside, Ky., Brownstown (Ind.) Speedway and Mountain View Raceway in Spring City, Tenn. all return to the 2022 schedule.

The Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Northern Series schedule is currently being completed and will be released in the coming weeks. The Brucebilt Iron-Man Open Wheel Modified Series schedule will also be released in the coming weeks.
