Hoffman finishes third in Super Late Model action at 411

Nick Hoffman rolled into 411 Motor Speedway (Seymour, Tenn.) on Tuesday evening for a $20,000-to-win Castrol FloRacing Night in America event. Twenty-six Super Late Model drivers entered the program and Hoffman began his night by piloting the Scott Bloomquist Racing No. 0NH Drydene Super Late Model to the fastest time in qualifying with a 13.160-second lap. Via qualifying he started on the pole of his heat race, and he picked up the 8-lap prelim win to lock into the third-starting spot for the 50-lap finale. Hoffman raced in a podium spot throughout the feature before crossing the finish line in third behind Jimmy Owens and Jonathan Davenport.

“We were a little bit harder on tire than (the first two finishers). Just that last restart, I just timed it wrong a little bit and got kind of in a push off (turn) four, and that allowed J.D. (Jonathan Davenport) to roll by me,” said Hoffman, who ran second for laps 1-34. “I could keep pace with (Davenport), but couldn’t do nothing with him. Yeah, for sure, to be on the podium with these guys, I’m pumped up about it. We’ve got a pretty cool announcement coming up, and I’ll be back in this thing at the (Charlotte’s) World Finals, for sure.”
