Fourth-place finish in Southern Nationals stop at Tazewell

On Friday afternoon Ross Bailes was one of 34 Schaeffer’s Southern Nationals entries on hand at 411 Motor Speedway (Seymour, Tenn.) for the $10,053 prize. Improving three spots in his heat race to pick up the win, Ross locked into the pole for the A-Main. After pacing the field for the first 13 circuits, Bailes faded back to a seventh-place finish when the checkered flag flew. (Michael Moats photo)

1For the Ray Varner Ford 53 on Saturday at Tazewell Speedway (Tazewell, Tenn.), Bailes followed up the third fastest time in his group with a heat race win. Losing three spots in the 53-lap affair, Ross notched a fourth-place finish. He followed Michael Chilton, Dale McDowell, and Zack Mitchell across the line with Donald McIntosh coming in fifth.
