Troutman tabs Top-5 finish in 2021 Late Model opener at 411

Bringing the 2021 season to life, Drake Troutman made the trip to 411 Motor Speedway (Seymour, Tenn.) on Friday afternoon for the 11th annual Hangover. With heavy rainfall on Friday condensing the program to a one-day show on Saturday afternoon, Drake secured his spot into the $5,000-to-win Super Late Model feature with the third fastest time in his qualifying group. Managing to claw forward two spots on the rough surface, Troutman notched a fourth-place finish, trailing Pierce McCarter, Christian Hanger, and Tommy Bailey across the line with Jimmy Sharpe Jr. rounding out the Top-5. In a field of 27 Modifieds, Troutman topped the speed charts overall in qualifying, which positioned him on the pole for the A-Main. After leading the first nine circuits, Drake ran into transmission issues that resulted in a broken driveshaft.
