Mesilla Valley Transportation Delivers Skylar Gee To Cocopah Speedway
LEDUC, Alb. (November 9, 2017) When Skylar Gee set out in pursuit of the 2017 ASCS Brodix National Rookie of the Year, his number one goal was to not miss a race. That goal was nearly dashed with the finish line in sight as issues with the team’s truck had them stranded in Dallas, Texas.
Frantically looking for a truck, a call to Royal Jones with Mesilla Valley Transportation was all it took to deliver the No. 99 to the 2017 finale for the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour presented by the MAVTV Motorsports Network at Cocopah Speedway in Somerton, Ariz.
“Royal saved the weekend for us for sure. We wanted to make the full schedule, and thanks to him, we get to accomplish that," commented Gee.
Making it just in time to check out Wednesday's Fan Fest, the team took the opportunity to test the car during Wednesday's practice session, despite running on three hours of sleep, "We're tired, but we made some laps tonight and the car felt really good so hopefully we can carry some speed into the weekend.”
Skylar’s second venture to the Arizona oval, the driver of the Carlan Services No. 99 looks to improve over his last visit during the 2015 Winter Heat.
“I feel a lot better coming into this event. We got really beat down during Winter Heat, but this time, I feel like I’m racing in class. Overall, I’m really happy with the car and the engines, so we’ll see what we can do.”
The Lucas Oil ASCS Cocopah Nationals kicks off on Thursday, November 9 and continues through Saturday, November 11. All three nights begin at 7:30 P.M. (MST). For continued updates on Skylar Gee and the Carlan Services No. 99, follow Skylar at Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/skylargeeracing.
