Winter Heat Sprint Car Showdown Round 3 Postponed to Wednesday
Inside Line Promotions – SOMERTON, Ariz. (Jan. 5, 2016) – Tuesday’s third round of the 2nd annual Winter Heat Sprint Car Showdown has been postponed one day at Cocopah Speedway.
Cocopah Speedway General Manager Greg Burgess opened the Winter Heat press conference on Tuesday afternoon announcing that incoming inclement weather has forced track officials to run the third of five races on Wednesday, when the forecast is projected to be much improved.
“We decided it would be smarter to race on Wednesday rather than tonight because of the many concerns about the weather,” Burgess said. “Everything will remain the same, just postponed one day. Tuesday’s tickets are still good for the fans and hot laps are scheduled for 6:30 p.m. with Opening Ceremonies at 7 p.m. as planned.”
Dale Blaney and Kyle Larson split the first two features last weekend to kick off the 2nd annual Winter Heat Sprint Car Showdown. Blaney currently leads the $10,000 points fund with a 14-point advantage over Larson. Jason Solwold ranks third, Shane Stewart fourth and defending event champion Danny Lasoski rounds out the top five.
Tickets for the remaining Winter Heat Sprint Car Showdown features are available online by visiting http://www.CocopahWinterHeat.com. Also, fans can purchase live Pay-Per-View video of the event via Speed Shift TV by clicking http://www.SpeedShiftTV.com/order.
