First Annual Scott Gower Memorial Shootout slated for July 23rd
April, 23, 2022 (MURFREESBORO, AR) -- The family of long-time racer Scott Gower and the owners of the Diamond Park Speedway have reached an agreement to hold the first ever “Scott Gower Memorial Shootout” on July 23, 2022 which happens to be his birthday.
The first, of what is to be an annual event for the Arkansas Factory Stock division, will boast a purse of, at the time of this writing, at least $1,305 to win and $55 to start. Additional monies are being added throughout the field, as well as a bonus of $100 to the leader on lap 5 from one of his closest friends, Joe Scott Anderson, in Scott’s honor.
Gower’s wife, Alejandra, and brother Lee, will be on hand to present the check and trophy to the inaugural winner. Derek Nichols of Derrick Nichols Forest Management LLC., who has donated $200 towards the purse, will be competing in a car built, from the ground up, by Gower.
Club 20 Suspension, and Neil Kemp have donated $100 to the lap leader on lap 20 in the 25 lap A Main event!
