Clanton opens World Finals with a pair of runner-up finishes

With 70 cars on the premises, Shane qualified sixth out of 35 drivers in his group and led all eight laps to win his heat race. Receiving a second-starting position for the feature via the redraw, Clanton led 38 of the 40 circuits before relinquishing the lead to Mike Marlar in the closing laps. Trent Ivey, Brandon Overton, and Tim McCreadie completing the Top-5 finishers.
With a second $15,000-to-win feature on Thursday night, Clanton laid down the third-fastest qualifying lap in his group before picking up a heat victory. Receiving the pole for the feature via the redraw along with a $500 bonus from SRI Performance, Clanton chased race-long pacesetter Tanner English to the checkers with Chris Madden rounding out the podium.
Based on Wednesday's and Thursday's results, Shane Clanton had accumulated the most points in the World Finals - Every Lap Matters points standings which placed him on the pole of his heat race. Shane led all eight laps and would yet again receive the pole position for the feature courtesy of the redraw, along with a $500 bonus from SRI Performance. Clanton settled in the fourth position for the first half of the 50-lap feature before fading to seventh when the checkers flew.
Clanton capped the 2022 World of Outlaws Late Model Series season with a ninth-place points effort.
